In the use of gantry crane, the work of steel wire ropes plays a very important role. We have certain technical specifications when threading steel wire ropes, which may seem relatively simple, but we need to follow the guidance of the specifications to achieve twice the result with half the effort during use.

In order to achieve the goal during use, the steel wire rope of a simple gantry crane and the lifting pulley are usually threaded together, and the common threading methods are mostly the straight threading method or the flower threading method.
The former is relatively simple compared to the latter, as it only requires one end of the steel wire rope to be wound around each pulley of the lifting pulley one by one. However, this winding method also has its drawbacks, as it is more prone to skewing when there are many pulleys in the lifting pulley assembly. Therefore, the straight-line method is also more suitable for lifting pulleys with less than four pulleys. Although the operation process of the flower threading method is slightly more complex, the results obtained are very good, effectively overcoming the problem of tilting of the lifting pulley and greatly improving the smoothness and safety of the operation of the simple gantry crane.
